Rick Ludwig, was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on September 26, 1966 to parents Beverly & Danny Ludwig.

Rick Ludwig, owner of Showtime Entertainment of Iowa and For The King Productions, has been singing since his mother can remember.  He began with his first public performance when he was four years old by singing "Oh How I Love Jesus" at the Ottumwa Baptist Church. Rick says, "For as long as I can remember, I've been singing.  I love to sing.  I sing just about everywhere I go.  I sing at work, at home, at church and of course in the car!  I grew up spinning my mom's Beach Boys albums in the late 60's and early 70's, so I had most of those songs memorized.  All of the parts, the melody and harmonies, including the bass and falsetto parts.  I love the oldies.  I also love country music!  My dad always sang country music and had it on the radio all day long.  Johnny Cash, George Jones, Conway Twitty, Glen Campbell, Charlie Rich and I remember the Hee Haw and the Porter Wagoner shows on TV along with The Grand Ole Opry.  That's how I learned the old country classics.  One of my favorites is The Statler Brothers and oh how I love the deep bass voice part of their songs."

Rick sang in church choir during his high school years and performed in various church musical cantatas during Christmas and Easter.  In high school, Rick won a few singing awards in various church state competitions.  Since leaving college, Rick has also sang in public performances such as wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, corporate functions, night clubs, casino shows, senior citizen centers, karaoke shows, singing telegrams and celebration of life/funerals along with a countless number of songs at his over 3,500 shows from 1985-present.

ACHIEVEMENTS...  Rick won 2nd place in a karaoke contest singing Elvis in Greenfield, Iowa and he also won 2nd place at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa in the Big Kahuna V karaoke contest in 2007 and 3rd place at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa in the Big Country Showdown karaoke contest in 2011!  Rick also was a finalist at Billy Joe's Pitcher Show in West Des Moines, Iowa back in the early 1990's and got to sing on the Nationally syndicated TV show "Karaoke America" singing "New York, New York" by Frank Sinatra (picture below). Rick recently tried out for America's Got Talent in Chicago in the fall of 2010.

Rick performs the oldies, Christian and gospel, classic country, contemporary country (including hits on the radio today) and even some classic pop and rock and roll songs.  He also likes to throw in a few Patriotic and a few silly songs by Ray Stevens every now and then. Rick's favorite artist of all-time is none other than Elvis Presley.  He sings Elvis probably the best of all the artists he performs.  Rick has also performed a few Elvis mini-concerts (Live Vocal Performances).

Rick performed Live Vocal Performances preceding his karaoke shows, at Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino from 1997-2001, whereby he sang a wide variety of mostly oldies, classic country and contemporary songs.  He has also joined in on jam sessions with a few local bands and performers since 1997.

Besides Des Moines and all of Iowa, Rick has also sung in Las Vegas, Seattle, Chicago, Kansas City, Omaha, Minneapolis and Orlando.  Nationwide travel is no problem for Rick to accommodate.
