At the end of 2005, Rick sold off some of his karaoke stuff (except 1 or 2 systems) and watched a few former employees go on to start their own DJ/Karaoke companies. Rick has always been supportive of those who wish to make it on their own! But in late 2006, Rick needed to expand the local business again, to make a living. Employees Carmen Kelly, Randy Grissom, DJ Cretsinger, Jessica Hummel, Holly Peterson, Adam Wirth and Christian Caruth helped grow the business again!!!
From 2006 to present, Rick has concentrated on private parties (DJ & Karaoke) and building up the karaoke business in local clubs and even started doing more singing vocal performances in clubs, casinos and nursing homes and doing singing telegrams and phone-a-grams for additional income in a tough economy.
Rick has also opened his DJ/Karaoke service up to traveling nationwide now! If a customer in California or New York or Florida wants a high quality, experienced, fun and interactive DJ and is willing to pay for travel and other expenses, Rick is willing to travel and is excited about traveling the nation! It's always been one of his dreams!
In 2007, Rick also formed a team of highly qualified singers and called them "The Dream Team Singers", which consisted of a group of male and female singers that traveled around Des Moines to perform. The team currently has been renamed to the All Star Singers.
Since 2007, Rick has begun expanding some of his live vocal performance shows "The Jukebox Singer Show ", "i-Man Show" and "The King & The Classics Show".
Since 2007, Rick has been working on his i-Man Show (aka The Impressionator) and is over 15 different characters that he can perform which include costumes, wigs, glasses, etc... for legends like Elvis, Sinatra, Dean Martin, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, John Denver, Elton John, Billy Joel, John Lennon, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Ozzy Osborne and even Tiny Tim.
In 2008, Rick began doing many singing telegrams locally in the Des Moines, IA area with costumes like Sinatra, Elvis, Elton, Cupid and even a giant Chicken. Rick also does phonegrams nationally for birthdays and anniversaries. His site is iSing2u.com
Well in 2010 and 2011, Rick has been able to expand the business with many different employees like Carmen Kelly, David Andrews, DJ Cretsinger, Amber Anderson, Elaine Lathrum-Roe, Travis Wells, Randy Grissom, Dani Tieskotter, Ed Pooler, Marcus MacFarland, Darcy Godfrey, Pat Evans, Lee Carson, Maria Rizutti, Makayla Davis, Tim Murray, Rod Potter, Sherry Lueders and Breigh Edwards. They have helped grow Showtime Entertainment into one of the best Karaoke companies in the Midwest!
Rick also formed a two man duo vocal group, "Two Men and a Tune", in which partner "Big" Al Laudencia and Rick performed at the 2010 Iowa State Fair and various private parties.
In the summer of 2010, Rick formed Kamp Karaoke for kids and some day adults to work on their singing and performance skills and to perform an end-of-camp mini-concert. Rick also formed Praise Hymn Karaoke which offers hundred of Comtemporary Christian songs along with traiditional hymns and praise and worship favorites! Rick hopes to move into providing local churches and Christian bookstores with karaoke.
In the fall of 2010, Rick plans to expand the DJ Service part of the business by taking on one or more DJs to do private parties.
As of summer 2011, Rick is taking the All Star Singers and Two Men and a Tune to the 2011 Iowa State Fair!
